Williamsburg, VA

I beleiv it would have been Saturday I ran through Williamsburg, VA on my trip across the country. Here are the facts and History of Williamsburg. Williamsburg was founded as the Capital of the Coloney of Virginia in 1699. It was one of Americas first planned Cities. It is also the home of Williams and Merry university, home to many U.S. presidents.
It is now home to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and also Colonial Williamsburg which is the lagest History Museum.
Next town on the trip: James Town, 3.8 miles ahead. We are 18 miles into the run across the country

First Run

So I left Yorktown, VA and started off with a 3 mile easy run (still recovering from my marathon, looking to pick things up next week some). Right now I am 9.97 miles away from Williamsburg. Here is my progress so far. Not much I know

The black represents where I have been so far, the blue is where I am going. I will try to update this map from time to time.

Start of a Journey!!!

Thanks to the help of http://exercise.lbl.gov, I can run across the United States without leaving home. Basically it allows you to keep track of your progress starting in Yorktown, Va all the way to the west coast. So today I started my journey. In this new blog I will post where I am each day (I will try to do this every day, but I am sbject to miss a day here or there). I will also try to do some research on the area that I am currently in on my trek across the country just to add some fun to this.
Here is the start:
What better place to start the journey than where America won its Indepenece?!!! Here on October 19, 1781, British forces under Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered to the combined American and French armies led by General George Washington. Would love to go there for real sometime!!!
